This is really good information. Wish I had know about this earlier in life. I knew one of these so called sociopaths -- that person seemed to be controlled by a compulsion to commit antisocial behavior and do bad things, for no reason and seemed to enjoy such acts. That person was scary! I think David's study can help many people by teaching them how to protect themselves from people affected with psychopathy. You need to protect yourself from harm and keep away from a person who appears to possess no sense of ethics. Good job with this book! You sound like you also have had some personal experience! The is easy to download and I have it on my laptop.
It's not a psych text. The author appears to include emotional content rather than hard data. Look elsewhere.

Thanks to people like Mr. Masters understanding these truly evil people becomes clear. I believe we have all been conned be psychopaths and simply did not recognize we had been dealing with a beast. I fully agree that documenting all encounters with psychopaths is very important to bring them down.
Its a good book about the basics of how to deal with a human predator, however its not the most detailed one, but I would definitely recommend it for beginners.
This info is concise and direct. No need to read page after page of filler. It gives the reader exactly the facts and clear instructions on what to do and what not to do. There is also a website for individual help. Masters says what victims feel but can't bring themselves to say because it is too incredible.
